In the wake of an assassination attempt, Misamis Occidental Governor Henry S. Oaminal remains resolute in his commitment to providing relentless public service and driving forward with reforms for the province.

Governor Oaminal's determination was on display during the Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) meeting, where he discussed the peace and order situation in the province, with a special focus on the police report detailing the attempted bombing incident on October 15.

The attack, which occurred along the roads of Clarin town, involved unidentified individuals who planted an improvised explosive device (IED). The device detonated near the governor's convoy vehicles, in an act that Governor Oaminal condemned as "dastard, cowardly, and barbaric." The use of an IED, prohibited by international humanitarian law, drew strong criticism from Oaminal.

Despite the assailants' attempts to disrupt his vision for Misamis Occidental, Governor Oaminal emphasized that he would not waver in delivering quality public service to his constituents. His "5Ms" program, which stands for "Misamisnon Magpuyong Malinawon, Malambuon ug Malipayon" (Misamisnon, Living in Peace, Prosperity, and Happiness), remains at the forefront of his administration's goals.

The governor challenged the province's development thrust, stating that these challenges are also tests of leadership and law enforcement. He acknowledged the attacks on his reputation in social media and online platforms but expressed his unwavering dedication to serving the people as they deserve.

Governor Oaminal called on all officials and employees of the Provincial Government of Misamis Occidental to stand firm in providing services to the people and not be deterred by ongoing challenges and security threats. He urged everyone to work harder, emphasizing the shared goal of uplifting Misamis Occidental, so that its residents can lead peaceful, prosperous, and happy lives.
