Ozamiz City, Misamis Occidental | Saturday, June 17, 2023 DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian and Governor Henry Oaminal Lead Financial Assistance Distribution Efforts, in a remarkable display of support and assistance, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Rex Gatchalian, alongside Governor Henry Oaminal, took charge of the distribution of Emergency Cash Transfer (ECT) to families affected by the recent shear-line in Misamis Occidental province.

Working in close collaboration with the provincial government of Misamis Occidental, the DSWD successfully provided financial aid to a total of 4,194 beneficiaries. The distribution encompassed various areas, including Oroquieta City, Panaon, Jimenez, Baliangao, Aloran, Plaridel, Concepcion, and Lopez Jaena, held at the BayFront Arena in Oroquieta. Additionally, another batch of beneficiaries, consisting of residents from Ozamiz City, Tudela, Sinacaban, and Clarin, received assistance at the Municipal Gymnasium in Tudela.

Under the ECT program, each beneficiary was granted a substantial amount of P13,680, aimed at alleviating the financial burdens caused by the shear-line disaster. This support serves as a crucial lifeline for the affected families, offering a means to meet their immediate needs and begin rebuilding their lives.

The collaborative effort between the DSWD and the provincial government highlights the commitment to empower communities and provide necessary aid during times of crisis. This distribution of emergency cash transfer underscores the dedication of both organizations to supporting the affected residents of Misamis Occidental.
