Ozamiz City Mayor Commends Peace and Order Council for Their Unwavering Support in the City's Campaign for Peace and Order.


Ozamiz City, Misamis Occidental | Ozamiz City Mayor Atty. Indy Oaminal recently commended all members of the Peace and Order Council for their unwavering support in the city's campaign for peace and order. As the chairman of the council, Mayor Oaminal expressed his gratitude for the council's efforts in ensuring the safety and security of the city's residents.

The Peace and Order Council plays a crucial role in maintaining the peace and order situation in Ozamiz City. With its members coming from various sectors of the community, including the government, non-government organizations, and the private sector, the council has been instrumental in the implementation of the city's Peace and Order and Public Safety (POPS) Plan.

During the recent council meeting, the members approved the POPS Plan for the years 2023-2025, which outlines the strategies and programs that will be implemented to maintain peace and order in the city. The plan covers various areas, including crime prevention, traffic management, disaster preparedness, and public safety.

Aside from the approval of the POPS Plan, the council also discussed and approved requests for curfew exemptions, especially for those who have valid reasons to be outside during curfew hours. The council also tackled environmental concerns, particularly the implementation of measures to ensure the cleanliness and orderliness of the city.

The meeting also featured a presentation of the peace and order update of the city by Ozamiz City Police Station Chief P/MAJ Dennis Tano and PDEA Provincial Officer IAV Elvis Taghoy. The update highlighted the accomplishments of the city in terms of crime reduction and the implementation of various programs to maintain peace and order.

Mayor Oaminal praised the efforts of the council members and emphasized the importance of their support in achieving the city's goal of a peaceful and safe community. He encouraged the members to continue their commitment and dedication to the cause of maintaining peace and order in the city.

With the continuing efforts of the Peace and Order Council and the support of the community, Ozamiz City is poised to become a model city in terms of peace and order.
